How to choose a sealing auxiliary system?
The correct selection of sealing auxiliary system is not only to improve the usage scenarios of mechanical seals and extend their service life, but also the key to ensuring the long-term safe operation of the unit. Due to the presence of hydrogen chloride, melted light hydrocarbons, and radon in thermal polymer oil, the substance cannot enter the air and should not be used to lubricate sealed ports.
Sealing layout method 1 (single port sealing) cannot meet the requirements from a safety or environmental perspective and should not be chosen. The sealing layout method 2 (double sealing, with the pressure between the two sealing ports lower than the pressure in the sealing chamber) is very safe. When the main seal leaks, the two side seals have a safe sealing effect, but due to the unsuitability of hot oil itself to lubricate the main sealing port.
Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a suitable and reliable internal flushing solution to improve the software environment of the main seal, that is, choosing APIPLAN32 or APIPLAN3255, PLAN32 must ensure stable and reliable flow, and its usage cost is very high, so it is not recommended to choose.
Sealing layout method 3 (double sealing, where the pressure between the two sealing ports exceeds the sealing chamber pressure) selects a relatively safe and stable isolation fluid as the sealing working fluid. When the material side seal leaks, the isolation fluid leaks to the flatness.
When the air side seal leaks, the isolation liquid leaks to the air side. No matter which side of the seal leaks, the total isolation liquid leaked fully ensures the "zero leakage" of the flat medium, which is both safe and environmentally friendly. Therefore, it is recommended to choose sealing layout method 3.
