What are the common causes and treatment methods of leakage in container mechanical seals?
1. Leakage caused by pressure
Pressure waves and seal leakage caused by pressure waves can lead to excessive pressure on the sealing end face, making it difficult to form a liquid film, causing severe wear on the sealing end face, increasing heat value, and resulting in protruding thermal expansion.
Method: When assembling the seal, compress the spring according to the regulations. Try to use materials with strong compressive strength such as hard alloy and porcelain, and strengthen refrigeration and lubrication measures.
2. Leakage caused by substances
If solid particles enter the sealing end face, it may scratch or accelerate the wear of the sealing end face.
Method: In areas where solid particles are easily accessible, tungsten carbide should be used to seal the tungsten carbide friction pair.
3. Regular water leakage
The axial movement of the pump rotor is large, the auxiliary seal and shaft interference are large, and the dynamic ring cannot move flexibly on the shaft. After the pump rotates, moves, and the stationary ring is damaged, there is no compensation for displacement.
Method: When assembling the machine seal, the axial movement of the shaft should be less than 0.1mm, and the auxiliary seal and shaft interference should be moderate. While ensuring radial sealing, the dynamic ring can move flexibly on the shaft after installation
4. Confidential seal leakage caused by any issues
The shaft (or shaft sleeve) port for assembling the dynamic ring seal and the sealing cover (or housing) port for installing the static ring seal should be chamfered and repaired to prevent damage to the sound ring seal during installation.
