Sealing ring is the general term for dynamic and static rings, and is the main component that constitutes mechanical seals. The sealing ring largely determines the performance and service life of mechanical seals, therefore, some requirements are put forward for it.

⑴ Has sufficient strength and rigidity. Under working conditions such as pressure, temperature, and sliding speed, it should not be damaged, and deformation should be minimized as much as possible to maintain sealing even when working conditions fluctuate.

The sealing end face should have sufficient strength and corrosion resistance to ensure satisfactory service life under working conditions.

The sealing ring should have good heat shock resistance. Therefore, it is required that the material has a high thermal conductivity and a small coefficient of linear expansion, so as not to crack when subjected to thermal shock.

⑷ The sealing ring should have a small friction coefficient and good self-lubricating properties, and the sealing ring material should also have good wettability with bee fluid. If there is short-term dry friction during work, it should not damage the sealing end face.

The sealing ring should strive for simplicity, symmetry, and prioritize the use of integral structures. Combination type (such as embedded type) sealing rings can also be used, and the use of sealing end face spray coating structure should be avoided as much as possible.

The sealing ring should be easy to process and manufacture, easy to install and maintain, and cost-effective.
